Lovely long-term vacancy for a country-loving candidate to join this part time residence home of a high-energy, informal family of 5.  The property is mainly used for long weekends during school terms, a pre-determined schedule of visits is available in advance, but generally covering 90 days of the year. 

This vacancy would suit an experienced hands-on housekeeper who enjoys cooking and is proactive, well organised and can really manage the day to day running of the household.

Duties will include cleaning, general day to day housekeeping, laundry and ironing, along with day-to-day house management, ensuring smooth daily running of the household, organising contractors, booking services when needed, ordering oil & logs, keeping on top of food shopping, freezers and larder contents.

You will need to deal with provisioning and use local suppliers, there is a superb butcher and fishmonger locally and farm produce available for fresh ingredients. 

When the family are in residence you will prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner. Family style food using seasonal produce and ranging from smoothies to a cooked breakfast, casseroles, roasts, pasta and fresh sauces, fish and lots of seasonal vegetables, fruit desserts, sugar free cakes and healthy snacks for the children. Previous experience with Aga cooking a big plus. 

This is an informal home and the family are neat and tidy people and very hands-on. There are 3 school age children, but a full-time nanny is employed. You do need to be child friendly, fun and a flexible housekeeper who really enjoys being part of a young and busy family. The family also have a medium size dog who stays at the property full time and will require daily care and attention. 

The daily working hours are 7.00am to 9.00pm (with an afternoon break) Thursday to Tuesday when the family are in residence. Outside these times you are able to be flexible on hours. 

Salary circa £45-50,000 Gross depending on experience. Driver with own car preferred but a car can be provided if necessary. One friendly, well behave dog accepted. Accommodation provided -1 bed self contained cottage in the grounds. 2 days off per week. (HU4248)
