An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced House Manager with formal service and butler skills to oversee the personal and household affairs of an UHNWI. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a combination of strong leadership, hands-on household management expertise, and a deep understanding of formal service protocols. This role requires a high level of professionalism, flexibility, and discretion, as the successful candidate will provide seamless support to the principal across multiple luxury properties around the world. The ability to manage complex household operations and staff with efficiency, while maintaining the highest standards of service, is essential to success in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
Personal & Household Management: Provide comprehensive support to the principal by managing all personal and household matters, including event planning, coordinating social engagements, and overseeing day-to-day private affairs. Ensure that all of the principal’s needs are anticipated and fulfilled with precision.
Staff Leadership & Training: Supervise a team of 10-20 household staff, ensuring efficient operations across multiple properties. Lead by example, offering guidance and conducting formal service training to maintain the highest standards of household etiquette and professionalism.
Global Travel Support: Travel internationally with the principal for up to six months per year. Be flexible and adaptable, ready to respond to changing schedules and travel at short notice to provide seamless support in various locations.
Property Coordination: Responsible for ensuring that all other properties the principal will be traveling to are prepared for the visit. This includes regular communication and coordination with property managers in Spain, France, and other locations to confirm readiness prior to the principal’s arrival, ensuring all arrangements are in place and up to the expected standards.
Confidentiality & Discretion: Serve as the principal’s trusted point of contact for all personal and private matters. Handle sensitive information with the utmost discretion and integrity, maintaining complete confidentiality at all times.
Event Management: Organise and oversee private events, dinners, and functions, ensuring flawless execution. Collaborate closely with event planners, vendors, and staff to deliver exceptional experiences tailored to the principal’s preferences.
The ideal candidate for this position must demonstrate a high degree of location flexibility, as there is extensive travel requirements of up to six months per year. The ability to relocate and travel on short notice is essential to meet the principal's global lifestyle demands. The candidate must be fluent in both English and French, ensuring effective communication with local staff and across various international locations. A proven track record in a similar role with a UHNW individual or family is crucial, showcasing expertise in household management, staff supervision, and personal assistance.
A butler certification is highly desirable, although candidates with a solid understanding of formal service, etiquette, and household protocols will also be considered. The ability to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality, discretion, and responsibility is critical when managing sensitive personal matters for the principal.
In addition, candidates will need to be highly organised with excellent multitasking abilities, be able to remain calm under pressure, and adaptable in dynamic situations. Candidates should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be capable of managing high-level responsibilities while maintaining high standards of professionalism and discretion at all times.
